II. What interpretations did you discover in your research?

 

Exodus 1

Give the date, author, recipient, and background of the book of Exodus-

Who was the “new king over Egypt?” (v.8)

Who were the “Hebrew midwives?”  Where they Hebrews? (v. 15-21)

 

Exodus 2

What materials were used to make the baby basket?  Were these materials used in any other Bible passages? (v.3)

How far was Midian from Egypt? (v.15)

Why did the shepherds try to drive away the women’s flock? (v.17)

What do we learn about God at the end of chapter 2? (v.23-25)

Exodus 3

Where was Horeb in relation to Midian?  To Egypt? (v.1)

Who is the “angel of the Lord?” (v.2)

What name does God use for himself?  How has this been translated across history? (v.14)

 

III. What applications can we take from Exodus 1-3?

(Is there an example to follow, a sin to avoid, a promise to claim, a prayer to repeat, command to obey, condition to meet, verse to memorize, error to mark, or a challenge to face?)
